Devoted to Danielle

Into our company enters a cute little female toad which we have dubbed "Danielle". She is quite timid, which is a common occurence among her kind. To her credit, she has shown us in many ways her exquisite sense of fashion. Her composure and calm handling of touchy situations accents her natural beauty.
We hope you will enjoy seeing this wonderful creature.

Cute little Caroline

Caroline is our smallest, cutest toad so far. She is a very active toad and seems to enjoy swimming. As a younger toad, her intelligence is somewhat below par although she shows great promise for increasing her mental capabilities. The weather outside made contact with a bufo americanus inevitable as wet days always bring enhanced activity amongst toads.

About Toads

A big part about appreciating toads is learning more about them.
Did you know...
...that a toad's "warts" aren't actually warts at all but markings that help them to blend into their environment?
...that toads, just like frogs, hatch from eggs and mature from tadpoles?
...that the paratoid glands located behind a toad's eyes can squirt poison?

Welcome Bertha!

Our second toad, Bertha, is a wonderful example of a beautiful toad in the prime of her youth. Her markings are vivid and clear, although she is heavier than most toads her size. As for her personality, she strikes me as surprisingly humble for a toad who is obviously quite intelligent for a creature so small and innocent. We hope you will enjoy the enclosed photos as they showcase her natural beauty.

Our Mission

Before we get too far on our journey at "Our Daily Toad", we would like to explain our mission. Our goal is to provide you with enjoyable pictures and footage of toads as well as a description of their attitude, and character. Every day we will endeavor to provide documentation of new toads as they become part of our family. We will be naming each toad alphabetically starting with the letter "A". We strive to accurately pair each toad with a name which best describes their personality and appearance. With the arrival of each new toad, we will return the previous toad into its natural environment after giving you a little look into its life and its role on this earth. We believe that God has given us, as humans made in His image, the responsibility and privilege to enjoy and take care of His creation.

Introducing Adam

Yesterday, we were united with a wonderful toad which we quickly deemed as "Adam". Adam is a small, rather quiet toad, he is subdued but still aware and curious about his surroundings. We placed fresh plants in his terrarium and a shallow dish of water. He seemed to enjoy sitting in the water as well as jumping on top of the artificial plants we gave him.

We thought the name Adam was interesting and it reminded us of the first man (Adam) to whom God gave the task of naming all the animals on the earth.
Genesis 2:19,20
And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field;
